Retención de carbono, línea base y alternativas de mitigación de la empresa agroforestal Mayabeque Carbon retention, baseline and mitigation alternatives of the Mayabeque agroforestal enterprise Álvarez-Brito, Arnaldo F. González-Pérez, Gualberto línea base carbono cambio climático mitigación bosques base line carbon climatic change mitigation forests Se presentan los resultados de la retención de carbono por bosques naturales y artificiales, áreas por reforestar e inforestales y totales (año base, línea base) de la Empresa Agroforestal Mayabeque, así como de cinco alternativas de mitigación. El procesamiento se hizo con el sistema SUMFOR v. 3.03. La empresa acumulaba 18 350,9 ktC al término de 2016 (333,24 tC/ha), equivalente a la remoción de 67 286,68 ktCO2 de la atmósfera, siendo los bosques naturales su mayor reservorio, por lo que el Indicador 3.5 de Manejo Sostenible alcanzó una contribución sobresaliente a la mitigación del cambio climático. El aumento en un 10 % del incremento corriente anual de 225 ha/de los bosques naturales durante dos años alcanzó la mayor remoción de carbono (5096,5 ktC), pero resultó menos costosa la reducción del 55 % de las áreas quemadas en dos años ($13 365,00 en total; 0,02 $/tCO2).
