Se determinaron 254 especies pertenecientes a 209 géneros y a 80 familias botánicas, existiendo 32 773 m (61,4 %) de faja hidrorreguladora, pero de ellos solo cumplen con lo establecido por la Ley Forestal 6000 m (18,3 %), correspondiendo al cañón del río dentro de la Sierra de Jatibonico, los que se proponen como área protegida por su grado de conservación un total de 20 589 m (38,5 %), carentes de faja hidrorreguladora. Se recomienda hacer cumplir con lo establecido en la Ley Forestal para las fajas hidrorreguladoras y que estas sean restablecidas. In this work, the situation of the riparian or bank vegetation of the Jatibonico del Norte River located in the municipality of Yaguajay, in its upper and middle channel, is detailed. 254 species belonging to 209 genera and 80 botanical families were determined. There are 32 773 m (61.4 %) of Hydroregulatory Belt, but of them they only comply with the provisions of the Forestry Law 6 000 m (18.3 %), corresponding to the river canyon within the Sierra de Jatibonico, which They are proposed as a protected area due to their degree of conservation.
