Diagnóstico de la situación actual de los productos forestales no maderables de origen vegetal en bosques semideciduos de la Ciénaga de Zapata Diagnostic of the present situation of the non wood forest products of vegetable origin in semi-deciduous forests of Ciénaga de Zapata Verdura-Almendariz, María Teresa Núñez-Barrizonte, Adolfo Manzanares-Ayala, Katia Fagundo-Abreu, Giraldo Diagnosis Non-Timber Forest Products semideciduous forests Diagnóstico Productos Forestales No Maderables bosques semideciduos Se realizó un inventario de especies en bosques semideciduos del patrimonio forestal de la Empresa para la Conservación de la Flora y la Fauna Ciénaga de Zapata con el objetivo de diagnosticar la situación actual de los Productos Forestales No Maderables de origen vegetal, a fin de establecer consideraciones para la gestión sustentable de los mismos. Se definieron 12 categorías para los PFNM y seis para los usos antropocéntricos, resultando las hojas, frutos, follaje y cortezas, así como los usos socio-religiosos y medicinal, las categorías más significativas, no solo por la distribución numérica y los porcentajes de especies contentivas de las cuales se obtienen, sino también por ser categorías que implican defoliación y denudación para su obtención, con el riesgo consiguiente de degradación de capacidades productivas, y validación de las propiedades terapéuticas atribuidas por un uso popular no comprobado científicamente. Se demuestra las potencialidades existentes en PFNM aprovechados de este ecosistema forestal. It was carried out an inventory of species in forests semi-deciduous of the forest patrimony of the Empresa para la Conservación de la Flora y la Fauna Ciénaga de Zapata with the objective of diagnosing the present situation of the Non Wood Forest Products of vegetable origin, in order to establish considerations for the sustainable administration of the same ones. It were defined 12 categories for the NWFPs and 6 for the anthropocentric uses, being the leaves, fruits, foliage and barks, as well as the uses social-religious and medicinal, the most significant categories for the numeric distribution and the percentages of species which are obtained. These categories imply defoliation and denudation in their process of obtaining, with the risk of degradation of the productive capacities of the species, being necessary the validation of the therapeutic properties attributed by the popular use, which are not scientifically substantiated. It is demonstrated the existent potentialities in use of NWFPs of this forest ecosystem.
