	<dc:description xml:lang="es">El estudio se desarrolló en un área de 30 ha, manejada con técnica de Forestería Análoga en la cuenca del río Sabanilla en Baracoa, Guantánamo, con el objetivo de analizar la estructura y composición de la vegetación en fragmento de bosque, en la fecha comprendida desde noviembre de 2014 hasta junio de 2015. Se establecieron 16 parcelas temporales de muestreo de 500 m2 (20 m x 25 m). Se contabilizaron las especies vegetales presentes en los diferentes estratos. Se realizó un análisis florístico estructural a través del índice de valor de importancia ecológico donde se identificaron un total de 43 familias, 64 especies leñosas y 2513 individuos. Las familias con mayor cantidad de individuos fueron Malvaceae y Fabaceae, y las de mayor cantidad de especies Poaceae, Malvaceae y Rubiaceae. Se destacan con mejor índice de valor de importancia ecológica las especies Bambusa vulgaris (97,2 %), Calophyllum antillanum (95,2 %), Samanea saman (83,6 %), Terminalia catappa (80,6 %) y Guarea guidonea (79,2 %).</dc:description>

With the objective of analyzing the structure and composition of the vegetation in forest fragment in the date understood from November of 2014 until June of 2015. 16 parcels storms of sampling of 500 m2 settled down (20 x 25). The species present floristic as were counted in the different strata he/she was carried out an analysis structural florístico through the index of ecological value of importance. A total of 43 families, 2513 individuals and 64 woody species were identified; the families with bigger quantity of individuals were Malvaceae and Fabaceae and those of bigger quantity of species Poaceae, Malvaceae and Rubiaceae. They stand out with better index of value of ecological importance the species Bambusa vulgaris (97,2 %), Calophyllum antillanum (95,2 %), Samanea saman (83,6 %), Terminalia catappa (80,6 %) and Guarea guidonea (79,2 %).</dc:description>
