Aporte en la mitigación del cambio climático por el patrimonio forestal de la Empresa Forestal Integral de Matanzas, Cuba Contribution in the mitigation of climate change for the forest heritage of the Integral Enterprise Forest of Matanzas, Cuba Ortiz-Álvarez, Osiris Mercadet-Portillo, Alicia Ramos-Gutiérrez, Roberto Gómez-Pulido, Lourdes Monagas-Valle, Eduardo forests mitigation climatic change retention carbon Bosques mitigación cambio climático retención carbono A pesar de que los bosques naturales cubanos se encuentran en su mayoría degradados producto de la incidencia del hombre sobre los mismos, se intensifica el mejoramiento y/o enriquecimiento de estos, así como el establecimiento de plantaciones que incrementen su existencia y disminuyan las áreas carentes de este recurso, el cual es manejado en su mayoría, por las Empresas Forestales Integrales (EFI) pertenecientes al Ministerio de la Agricultura. Múltiples son las intenciones u objetivos que persiguen dichas entidades con ello, pero no siempre el manejo dado es el más adecuado, incidiendo en que no tengan una contribución verdaderamente positiva para la reducción del reforzamiento del efecto  invernadero y a la estabilización del cambio climático. En este sentido se cuantifica el carbono retenido por el patrimonio forestal de la EFI Matanzas, la cual se localiza en la provincia de igual nombre y que extiende su radio de acción en el norte y centro de este territorio. In this sense the carbon is retained by the forest patrimony of the EFI Matanzas, which is located in the equal province names and that it extends its action radio in the north and center of these territories.
