Los resultados muestran que las mayores afectaciones estarán presentes en las unidades silvícolas Guaro y Cabonico, con cambios en la composición de especies de su área forestal por el aumento de la intrusión salina, y que esos mismos impactos producirán la pérdida de condiciones agroproductivas de los suelos, pudiendo originar el cambio de uso de la tierra en esas áreas, y aquellas áreas agrícolas situadas más tierra adentro probablemente tendrán que variar su esquema habitual de cultivos por otras más tolerantes a los tenores salinos existentes. En respuesta a esos impactos se le han propuesto a la empresa medidas de adaptación que contribuyen con la preparación del Programa de Enfrentamiento al Cambio Climático. As part of the tasks envisaged in project 1008 “Third National Communication on Climate change: Forestry Sector”, the coastal heritage of the Agroforestry Enterprise Mayarí has been subject to an evaluation of the possible expected impacts. The results show that the greatest effects will be present in the Guaro and Cabonico forestry units, with changes in the species composition of their forest area due to the increase in saline intrusion and that these same impacts will result in the loss of agro-productive conditions of the soil, being able to cause the change of land use in those areas and those agricultural areas located more inland will probably have to vary their usual crop scheme by others more tolerant to the existing salt tenors. In response to these impacts, the company has proposed adaptation measures that contribute to the preparation of the Climate Change Confrontation Program.
