Especies apícolas presentes en la finca La Unión, La Aplastada, Guisa, Granma Apicultural species present in the farm La Unión, La Aplastada, Guisa, Granma Arcia-Chávez, Magalys Molina-Pelegrín, Yenia Sosa-López, Adonis Carmona-Licea, Jorge L. bee species nectar pollen flowering especies apícolas néctar polen floración La investigación se llevó a cabo durante el período 20132014 en la finca La Unión, comunidad La Aplastada, Sierra Maestra, Guisa, Granma, con el objetivo de inventariar las especies con potencial apícola. Se realizaron recorridos por el área resultando que el inventario florístico realizado está compuesto por 78 especímenes. Se realizaron entrevistas no estructuradas a nueve finqueros y 14 comunitarios, así como consultas bibliográficas para conocer la época de floración de las especies y la preferencia por las abejas. Los resultados arrojaron que existen 31 especies apícolas pertenecientes a 20 familias botánicas, de ellas las mejor representadas resultaron: Rutaceae, Meliaceae, Anacardiaceae, Arecaceae, Caesalpinaceae, Sapindaceae, Malvaceae y Sterculeaceae con una diversidad baja y alta dominancia. La mayoría de las especies florecen en el Ier. semestre del año (enero-junio). Estos resultados aseveran la necesidad de que los finqueros incrementen las especies apícolas en sus áreas agrícolas y forestales, utilizando plantas que le proporcionen miel. The research was carried out during the period 2013-2014 in the farm La Unión, La Aplastada, Sierra Maestra, Guisa, Granma, with the aim of inventorying species with apicultural potential. There were tours of the area resulting in the floristic inventory made up of 78 specimens. Nine structured interviews were conducted with nine farmers and 14 community members as well as bibliographical consultations to know the flowering season of the species and the preference for the bees. The results showed that there are 31 bee species belonging to 20 botanical families, of which the best represented, were: Rutaceae, Meliaceae, Anacardiaceae, Arecaceae, Caesalpinaceae, Sapindaceae, Malvaceae and Sterculeaceae with low diversity and high dominance. Most species bloom in the first half of the year (January-June). These results assert the need for farmers to increase bee species in their agricultural and forest areas, using plants that provide honey.
