Productos forestales no maderables en el sotobosque de plantaciones de Pinus maestrensis en Guisa, provincia de Granma Non-wood forest products in sotobosque of plantations Pinus maestrensis in Guisa, province of Granma, Cuba López-Martell, Andrés Núñez-Barrizonte, Adolfo Manzanares-Ayala, Katia Espinosa-González, Jorge L. undergrowth Non-Wood Forest Products category sotobosque Productos Forestales No Maderables categoría Con el objetivo de inventariar la flora existente en áreas de sotobosque en plantaciones de Pinus mestrensis, y determinar los recursos de Productos Forestales No Maderables (PFNM) aprovechados y aprovechables por la población, se realizó una investigación en la localidad de Los Números, de la Unidad Empresarial de Base Silvícola de Guisa, perteneciente a la Empresa Agro-Forestal Granma. De las 44 especies identificadas y registradas, agrupadas en 30 familias botánicas y 41 géneros, con predominio mayoritario de herbáceas, el 75 % aproximadamente (33 especies), provee algún u otro recurso de PFNM que resulta recolectado por diversos usos. Se establecieron nueve categorías para los PFNM y siete para los usos, reportándose las categorías de follaje, hojas y frutos como las más recolectadas, y el uso medicinal, con 20 especies, como el de mayor aplicación, aún sin la validación científica de las propiedades terapéuticas atribuidas por el uso popular a muchas especies. Se demuestra la importancia del sotobosque en la provisión de PFNM variados de relativa importancia socioeconómica. With the objective of inventorying the flora existent in undergrowth areas in plantations of Pinus mestrensis, and to determine the resources of Non Wood Forest Products (NWFP) profitable for the population, was carried an investigation in the place known by Los Números, of the Silvicultural Management Unit of Base of Guisa, belonging to the Company Agroforestal Granma. From the 44 identified and registered species, contained in 30 botanical families and 41 scientific genuses, with majority prevalence of herbaceous, 75 % approximately (33 species), provides someone resource of NWFPs that it is gathered by diverse uses. It were established 9 categories for the NWFP and 7 for the Uses, being reported the foliage, leaves, and fruits categories, like a most gathered, and the medicinal uses, with 20 species, like the biggest application, still without the scientific validation of the therapeutic properties attributed by the popular uses of many species. The importance of the undergrowth is demonstrated in the provision of varied NWFP of relative socioeconomic importance.
