Orquídeas epífitas como especies indicadoras de perturbaciones en el sector oeste de la Reserva de la Biosfera Sierra del Rosario Epiphyte orchids as indicative species of disturbances in the west sector of the Biosphere Reserve Sierra del Rosario Orta-Pozo, Surima epiphyte orchid indicative species disturbed forests orquídeas epífitas especies indicadoras bosques perturbados La presente investigación se llevó a cabo con la finalidad de determinar las especies de orquídeas epífitas indicadoras de bosques perturbados en la Reserva de la Biosfera Sierra del Rosario (RBSR). Se seleccionó tres zonas del sector oeste, en las cuales se establecieron 47 parcelas de 500 m2 (50 m x 10 m) de forma sistemática, teniendo en cuenta las secciones base, media y cima, los cuatro puntos cardinales: norte (N), sur (S), este (E) y oeste (W), y la accesibilidad de cada uno de los sitios muestreados. Para la selección de las especies indicadoras a partir de los criterios establecidos se tuvo en cuenta las variables de respuestas tales como: especies que ocupen más del 5 % del área, diversidad de forofitos y la influencia de disturbios antrópicos. El patrón de especies indicadoras según las variables establecidas estuvo asociado a las especies Prosthechea boothiana y Polystachya concreta. The present research was carried out with the aim of determining the epiphyteorchid species indicative of disturbed forests in the biosphere reserve Sierra del Rosario” (RBSR).  Three areas were selected of the west sector in which 47 parcels of 500 m2 were settled down (50 m x 10 m), in a systematic way, regarding the sections: base, middle and summit; the four cardinal points: North (N), South (S), This (E) and West (W); and the accessibility of each one of the sampling places. The response variables were used by the selection of the indicative species taking into consideration the established approaches such as: species which occupy more than 5 % of the area, tree diversity and the influence of man disturbances.
