Manzanares-Ayala, Katia Echavarría-Vales, Raúl Integrated Farm Forestry welfare and environmental agroforestry and silvopastoral practices Fincas Forestales Integrales bienestar humano y ambiental prácticas agrosilvícolas y silvopastoriles El municipio de Bahía Honda, en la provincia de Artemisa, es una región montañosa y cuenta con 15 Fincas Forestales Integrales, cuyo objeto social es la protección de los suelos y las aguas. Se realizó el diagnóstico en cuatro fincas: Corojalito, La Presa, La Sierra y Los Mangos. En ellas se han establecido plantaciones en áreas que estuvieron dedicadas a la ganadería y la agricultura cañera. Se corrobora que la gestión actual centrada en las diferentes actividades silvícolas por sí solas no satisfacen las necesidades económicas del finquero y la familia, provocando un desequilibrio entre el bienestar humano y el ambiental. El barómetro de sostenibilidad revela que la cobertura forestal obtuvo mayor puntaje, lo que se corresponde con el Índice de Diversidad de Shannon, el cual clasifica como medianamente diverso en el 50 % de los sitios evaluados. Se propone diversificar las actividades productivas implementando prácticas agrosilvícolas y silvopastoriles, contribuyendo a ser más sostenibles estas unidades productivas. The Bahia Honda municipality in the province of Artemisa is a mountainous region and has 15 comprehensive forest farms, whose purpose is the protection of soil and water. Diagnosis was made in four properties: Corojalito, La Presa, La Sierra and Los Mangos. In the same have been established plantations in areas that were devoted to livestock and sugarcane agriculture. It confirms that the current management focused on silvicultural activities alone does not meet the economic needs of the farmer and family, causing an imbalance between the human being and the environment. The sustainability barometer reveals that forest cover scored the highest corresponding to the Shannon diversity index, which ranks as median different in 50 % of the sites evaluated. It is proposed; diversify production activities implementing agroforestry and silvopastoral practices, contributing to a more sustainable these productive units.
