Wigth et Arm. (marabú). Se encontró que la madera presenta un alto contenido de extractivos en agua caliente de 12,5-13,0 %, en solventes orgánicos de 3,2-3,4 %, porcentaje de celulosa (48,0 %) y lignina (33 %), y los carbones obtenidos presentan entre 2 y 6 % en contenido de cenizas, un 64-83 % de carbono fijo, así como la densidad por encima de los límites reportados. Se observó que la composición química de la madera corrobora sus excelentes cualidades energéticas y produce un carbón vegetal de calidad comparable con otras especies que se emplean de forma tradicional. The energy of the biomass constitutes an action line that will allow harmonizing the growth targets, social justness and environmental sustainability. It is carried out an evaluation of the characteristics chemicals of the wood and charcoal of the species Dichrostachys cinerea (L.) Wigth et Arm. (marabú). It was found that of wood presents a high content of extractive in hot water of 12,5-13,0 %, in organic solvents of 3,2-3,4 %, cellulose percentage (48,0 %) and lignin (33 %). The obtained charcoals present among 2-6 % in content of ashy, 64-83 % of fixed carbon, as well as the density above the reported limits. It was observed that the chemical composition of the wood corroborates its excellent energy qualities, a charcoal of quality comparable with other species that they are used in a traditional way for the production of charcoal.
