In the area dominated by Panicum maximum, with 58.9 % and the availability of pasture was 3.2 t DM/ha, the animals did not exert negative action on the trees. The average weight gain was 47 g/animal/day, being higher in the wooded area. The results suggest planting a fodder bank to ensure food quality and quantity. Likewise, the economic assessment showed the benefits of introducing sheep in forest plantations, ensuring increased profitability in the forest.</dc:description>
