Percepción ambiental por los actores sociales de la Reserva Ecológica El Gigante Environmental perception by the social actors of the Gigante Ecological Reserve Molina-Pelegrín, Yenia Santos-Chacón, William Sosa-López, Adonis Hechavarría-Kindelán, Orlidia Cruz-La Paz, Orestes rural communities biological preservation endangered species conservación biológica comunidades rurales especies en peligro de extinción La investigación se desarrolló en la Reserva Ecológica El Gigante, la cual forma parte del sistema nacional de áreas protegidas de significación local en Granma, con el objetivo de potenciar el conocimiento sobre la conservación de especies amenazadas que poseen los actores sociales de la comunidad Falda del Gigante. Se empleó la metodología desarrollada por CIPS-Cigea, enfocada hacia la evaluación de la sensibilidad y la autorresponsabilidad, a través de la observación y la aplicación de entrevistas semiestructuradas. Los resultados señalaron el escaso nivel de conocimientos de los actores respecto al estatus de área protegida y las regulaciones jurídico-administrativas que la rigen. La sensibilidad en la conservación de especies amenazadas identifica una demanda de conocimientos a satisfacer mediante acciones de capacitación. The investigation was developed in El Gigante Ecological Reserve which is part of the National System of Protected Areas of local significance in Granma, with the objective of improve the knowledge about the conservation of threatened species that the social actors of «The Giant mountain range community» possess. It was used the methodology developed by CIPS-CIGEA, focused toward the evaluation of the sensibility and the responsibility, through the observation and the application of half-structured interviews. The results pointed out the scarce level of the actors’ knowledge, about the status of protected area and the juridical-administrative regulations that rule it. The sensibility regarding the conservation of threatened species identifies a demand of knowledge to satisfy by means of training actions.
