Con el objetivo de predecir el comportamiento del diámetro medio de Pinus cubensis Griseb de la Empresa Forestal Integral Baracoa, se evaluaron ocho modelos de regresión no lineal, donde el modelo que mejor bondad de ajuste presentó fue el de Hossfeld I (modificado), que logró explicar una alta variabilidad con un coeficiente de determinación del 87,6%, parámetros de alta significación (p < 0,001), y que mejor refiere el comportamiento biológico de la especie. Se presentan las curvas que describen la evolución en el tiempo del incremento medio anual (IMA), y el incremento corriente anual (ICA) de esa variable. Mathematical modelling constitutes a very useful tool for the planning and administration of the forest ecosystems. With the objective of predicting the behavior of the mean diameter in plantations of Pinus cubensis Griseb of the Integral Forest Enterprise Baracoa, eight models non- lineal regression were evaluated. The model of the best goodness of fit for the mean diameter was that of Hossfeld I (modificado), being able to explain high variability, with a coefficient of determination of 87,6%, parameters of high significance (p < 0.001) and describing the best the biological performance of the species. The curves that describe the evolution in time of the annual mean increment (IMA), and the annual periodical increment (ICA) of this variable are provided.
