Se analizan en este artículo los resultados del estudio etnobotánico sobre el cogollo de la palma real y del análisis estadístico de variables cualitativas, con el objetivo de recuperar información sobre el aprovechamiento actual de este importante producto forestal no maderable de los bosques cubanos. Se definen usos tradicionales de este producto, las cualidades que lo caracterizan y que permiten su aprovechamiento, así como los aspectos que tienen en cuenta los campesinos desmochadores durante su obtención. La ocurrencia de los estadígrafos permite corroborar valoraciones importantes a fin de recomendar acciones favorables para la sostenibilidad de su aprovechamiento. The relationship of the plants with the man starting from the knowledge of customs and traditions on its use, constitutes the object of study of the Etnobotanical like science. In this article are analyzed the results of the study etnobotanical on the heart of the real palm and the statistical analysis of qualitative variables, with the objective of recovering information about the current use of this important nonwood forest product of the cuban forests. At the same time are defined the traditional uses and the qualities characteristics of this product, as well as the environmental aspects that keep in mind the farmers during their obtaining. The occurrence of the statisticians allows corroborating important valuations, in order to recommend favourable stocks for the sostenibility of its use.
