Determinación de las fórmulas de volumen de las trozas de Pinus caribaea Morelet var. caribaea García-Delgado, Juan Manuel González- Hernández, Osmani León Sánchez, María Amparo Henry-Torriente, Pedro Pablo volume log profile volumen troza perfil Han sido innumerables los estudios a partir de diferentes métodos para determinar con la mayor exactitud posible el volumen maderable de los bolos y trozas, resultado de la explotación del bosque y dirigidos a diferentes industrias y usos. El Pinus caribaea Morelet var. caribaea es la especie de conífera más representada en la industria del aserrado cubana, y  existe para la cubicación de las trozas un método único. Se utiliza el estudio del perfil para obtener la expresión matemática de cada tipo de troza (base, media y rabiza) con y sin corteza, relacionando en dimensiones relativas el diámetro cada 0,25 m dividido entre el diámetro menor de la troza y el largo en cada sección dividido entre el largo total. De la misma forma se determinan las fórmulas de volumen para cada tipo de troza y una general para todas ellas. Primeramente se obtienen los modelos matemáticos generales con y sin corteza. A partir de los modelos de las trozas de Pinus caribaea se calculan las fórmulas de volumen. They have been many studies starting from different methods, to determine with the biggest possible accuracy the volume of the bole and log of the explotation of the forest and directed ti different industries and uses.
