<dc:description xml:lang="en">It is analyzed the influence of different growing media in the quality of containerized Eucalyptus grandis seedlings in Guanahacabibes Forest Enterprise province of Pinar del Río, Cuba. The growing media employed in the research are composed by different organic materials where filter cake (cachaza) is the principal element between a 50 and 90%, more peat 40%, hen-dung and bat manure 10%. The used seed proceeds of the orchard cloned belonging to Guanahacabibes Forest Enterprise. The used experimental design was blocks thoroughly at random with three treatments and three replies. The water used for the irrigation complying with the parameters of quality established for its use. It is accomplished a chemistry characterization and physical of the growing media. They were evaluated parameters and morphological index of the plants; index of the growth and the development, as well as it’s been nourishing. The results demonstrate that: The better behaviours in plantation concerning survival, height and diameter of the neck root present it the growing media compounds by sloth between a 50 and 90%, peat 40% and bat manure or hen-dung 10%. All the growing media studied present a better behaviour in the morphological attributes that the growing medium employed in the enterprise. The use by the forests enterprises will be in correspondence with the availability of the growing medium materials.</dc:description>
