Se analiza en este artículo la situación forestal en algunas zonas urbanas de la capital con el objetivo de estudiar el aporte potencial del ocuje (Callophyllum antiullanum Britt) a los espacios verdes capitalinos de parques, jardines y patios particulares. Se presentan los beneficios de carácter utilitario que pueden brindar a los habitantes capitalinos el establecimiento de la especie propuesta, así como algunas pautas para mejorar su integración con la planificación urbana. Se observó que el ocuje ocupa una buena frecuencia de ocurrencia en las unidades ambientales estudiadas, y que los registros más bajos se identificaron en la barriada de los municipios de Plaza de la Revolución y La Habana del Este. The urban green areas offer numerous environmental and social services that contribute to increase the quality of life of the cities. It is analyzed in this work the forest situation in some urban areas of the capital with the objective of studying the potential contribution of the ocuje (Callophyllum antiullanum Britt) to the green spaces of the capital of parks, gardens and private fields. The benefits of utilitarian character are presented that can offer the inhabitants of the capital the establishment of the proposed species, as well as some rules to improve their integration with the urban planning. It was observed that the Ocuje presents good occurrence frequency in the environmental units studied and the lowest registrations were identified in the quarter of the municipalities Plaza and West- Havana.
