El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar la situación actual del parque para desarrollar un plan de recuperación integral. La investigación incluyó un inventario florístico de las especies arbóreas, identificando tres especies de árboles (Peltophorum pterocarpum, Delonix regia y Terminalia catappa), con 22 individuos adultos. Se observó una baja diversidad de especies y una alta concentración de árboles envejecidos, lo que afecta la funcionalidad del ecosistema. Además, el parque está sometido a daños por agentes bióticos, como hormigas invasoras (Wasmannia auropunctata), y abióticos, como condiciones climáticas adversas. Las raíces de los árboles han causado daños en la infraestructura peatonal. Para la recuperación, se propuso la eliminación de vegetación herbácea, la tala de árboles en sobremaduración, la reposición de especies más adecuadas y el control de las hormigas invasoras mediante cebos tóxicos. Las conclusiones resaltaron la necesidad urgente de restaurar el parque para mejorar su función sociocultural y ambiental, ya que la vegetación actual presenta una baja capacidad de regeneración. The Palco Park, located in the Playa municipality of Havana, Cuba, faces progressive deterioration of its green and gray infrastructure, limiting its potential as a space for leisure and passive recreation. The objective of this study was to assess the current condition of the park and develop a comprehensive recovery plan. The research included a floristic inventory of the tree species, identifying three species (Peltophorum pterocarpum, Delonix regia, and Terminalia catappa), with a total of 22 adult individuals. A low species diversity and a high concentration of aging trees were observed, negatively affecting the functionality of the ecosystem. The Park is also subjected to damage from biotic agents, such as invasive ants (Wasmannia auropunctata), and abiotic agents, such as adverse weather conditions. Tree roots have caused damage to the pedestrian infrastructure. For recovery, it was proposed to remove herbaceous vegetation, cut down overmature trees, replace species with more suitable ones, and control the invasive ants with toxic baits. The conclusions emphasized the urgent need to restore the park to improve its sociocultural and environmental function, as the current vegetation has a low regeneration capacity.
