<dc:description xml:lang="en">Eucalyptus sp. wood faces limitations in its use due to growth stresses, which cause deformations during processing. This study aimed to analyze the influence of ringing as a method to reduce these stresses in Eucalyptus pellita F. Muell and Eucalyptus saligna Smith, improving the quality of the produced wood. The study was conducted in plantations in Artemisa, Cuba, where 110 trees were selected using simple random sampling. Two treatments were applied: in situ ringing (30 cm wide and 1/3 of the diameter at 1.30 m height) and log-end ringing (on both ends of stored logs). Subsequently, fissures in 20 logs (10 per species) with diameters ranging from 34 to 41 cm were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 10 to assess significant differences between treatments. Results showed that in situ ringing was more effective in releasing internal stresses, reducing the incidence and magnitude of fissures. In contrast, log-end ringing was less efficient due to residual stresses. The analysis confirmed that growth stresses decrease as tree diameter increases, enhancing the quality of processed wood. It was concluded that ringing can be an effective tool to optimize the use of Eucalyptus sp. in the forestry industry, especially for applications such as construction and furniture manufacturing.</dc:description>
