<dc:description xml:lang="en">Quantifying harvestable forest biomass is essential to optimize its use as an energy resource and promote sustainable forestry practices. This study aimed to predict Pinus caribaea crown biomass per m³ of harvested stem wood, in addition to designing an appropriate technology for its harvesting. Forest areas on quartzite ferralitic soils were evaluated using quantitative and qualitative methods and tools such as calipers, scales, and harvesting models. The data were processed with STATGRAPHICS Plus 5.1, using predefined volume and biomass tables. The results showed that for each m³ of harvested wood, 87.0 kg of branches, 54.7 kg of bunches, and 42.5 kg of needles were obtained, with sampling errors of less than 10%. The proposed technology included adaptations to trailers and carts to transport biomass, integrating three additional workers into the extraction crews. It was concluded that these values are reliable indicators for estimating harvestable biomass, and that the designed technology is viable for implementation in real-world conditions, contributing to the energy and industrial use of forest residues.</dc:description>
