Abstract
Una forma de medir el desempeño de las instituciones de investigación es mediante el cálculo del número de publicaciones realizadas, lo cual es un reflejo de su producción científica.
El intercambio de conocimientos entre instituciones y países adquiere cada día mayor importancia, ya que el desarrollo científico-técnico así lo requiere. Se trata de aunar esfuerzos y recursos para trabajar sobre temas de interés común, lograr la deseada integración que resulta tan necesaria para conocer las tendencias actuales de la investigación y el desarrollo; los eventos o reuniones científicas nacionales e internacionales, y las publicaciones constituyen un instrumento necesario para mantener actualizados los conocimientos e incentivar las investigaciones.
La Revista Forestal Baracoa es un exponente de esta necesidad, al hacer llegar a investigadores, docentes, productores, estudiantes, a todas las personas vinculadas al quehacer forestal, los resultados de las investigaciones que en esta esfera se realizan.
