Autecological attributes of Pinus tropicalis Morelet in natural forests of Galalón
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this work we have determined autoecology attributes of the species Pinus tropicalis Morelet which are found in natural forests of the town of Galalón. We have the following objectives: the climatic characterization of the area, the physical and chemical properties of the soil and determination of the values of potential hydraulic and of transpiration cuticular. The results indicate some affectations which come from the state of conservation of the forest and an increasing tendency in the values of the elements that characterize the climate; most of the soil has the texture of loamy loam, erosion, not very deep and with a high grade of acidity. The species Pinus tropicalis is the most common heliófila of the Cuban pines and it adapts to extreme conditions creating mechanisms for such adaptation. It was observed that the values of potential hydraulic at dawn are lower than at noon in the branches with south orientation. They are significant the first floor opposing values that denote a near state to the stress hydraulic in the trees. The transpiration cuticular was higher in the south exhibition.
