Los suelos de la Estación Experimental Forestal de Topes de Collantes, Las Villas

Abstract
The soils of the Forestry Experimental Station of Topes de Collantes were studied, 510 há, and five representative profil these mountainous soils were described; a soil map in the 1: 11000, scale was prepared. The mechanical analysis indicated that the major part of these soils are clayey. Their contents of clay may reach 63%; never- theless they present a good drainage. These soils are of acid reaction, low in organic matter and poor in almost all the nutrients; but due to the altitude of the place, the high precipitations and the considerable depth of the soil. the growth of the trees among the best in Cuba.
