Caracterización de la roya de las agujas del pino (Coleosporium sp.) en Cuba

Abstract
La roya de las agujas (Coleosporium sp.) ataca a un diverso número de especies de pino y se encuentra distribuida en una gran cantidad de países en todo el mundo, con la consiguiente afectación a plantaciones jóvenes y viveros. Esta enfermedad fue observada en Cuba sobre Pinus caribaea Morelet var. caribaea en Viñales y posteriormente mencionada por Jancarik, cuando afectaba P. maestrensis Bisse; este autor realiza una descripción general de los síntomas y posibles hospederos, basada en su experiencia en los pinares europeos. En el presente trabajo se hace una descripción de las diferentes fases sintomatológicas de este hongo en dos especies de importancia económica para nuestro país (P. caribaea Morelet var. caribaea y P. maestrensis Bisse), así como se señala su distribución actual en las distintas regiones de pinares de Cuba; además, se caracteriza morfológicamente el estadio del patógeno en las muestras colectadas (estadio escidiospórico), y se determinan los rangos pertinentes para P. maestrensis y P. caribaea en longitud y anchura.
