Abstract
The object of this paper is to continue a systematic inventory of forest pests in order to report the new species detected, and to offer information ori the development of species already reported by other authors. Among the most important defoliator species already known are Atta insularis (Guer.) (polyphagous), Coptocycla dorsopunctata Klug., and Conchylodes diphteralis (Geyer) on Cordia spp. Considerable damage caused by the bud borer Rhyacionia frustrana(Comst.) on Pinus spp. was detected. The attack of Dioryctria horneana (Dyar) is to be mentioned among the species that develop in the stems. Severe damage caused by coleoptera belonging to Cerambycidae family, especially Acanthoderus circumflexa Duval, and Acanthocinus obsoletus Olivier on Cedrela spp, and Pinus spp. respective1 and also by the curculionid Copturus cubensis Tzan Trap on S. mahagoni was iound under the bark of wornened or felled trees. Other species mentioned are those produce local and chronic damages, and are important in forest economics because they are potentially dangerous under favourable environmental conditions. According to the available bibliography, of the all 81 species mentioned, 29 of them are reported for the first time.
