Abstract
The influence of various methods and dosages of fertilizers and of different spacings between trees in plantations, and its relationship with the intensity of the attack of Dioryctria horneana (Dyar) on pines was studied. It was noted that, a larger spacing between trees influences substantially the development of the pest, which clearly prefers understocked stands. It was also noted the relationship between the fertilization of the pines and the intensity of the pest, as the density of its population increased with the increased amount of NPK applied to the trees.
