Structure and composition analysis in a mogote xerophile of the Palma del Perro place of Guisa municipality, Granma, Cuba
Main Article Content
Abstract
The research was carried out in an area of an antler in the town of Palma del Perro, in the municipality of Guisa, in the period from November 2014 to June 2015, in order to evaluate the floristic component and its composition. The study area was divided into three ecotypes: base, wall and top, for a better analysis. A floristic inventory was carried out with emphasis on those species with a diameter greater than five centimetres, using stratified random sampling. The characterization and floristic composition of the area was evaluated and the Importance Value Index (IVI) was determined, resulting in the diversity in the flora composed of 46 species and 35 families; where the most represented are Rutaceae, Bromeliaceae, Sapindaceae, Sapotaceae, Anacardiaceae and Annonaceae. Endemism behaves at 17,7 %.
