First experiences on gender-climate change interrelation in Ciénaga de Zapata, Matanzas, Cuba
Main Article Content
Abstract
Taking into account the importance that the formulation of measures of adaptation and mitigation to climate change have a gender focus, is that this study is conducted whose objective was to assess the population’s knowledge on the impacts of climate change in the Ciénaga of Zapata Municipality and assess its interrelation with the gender component. The forms for the interviews were prepared from the UICN-UNDP (2009) and FAO (2013) Guidelines. A total of 98 interviews were conducted, 38 of them in work centers and 60 in population settlements. The results allow assessing the aspects that require priority attention on the definition of measures for adaptation to climate change in the territory, including dissemination and training, favored by the little difference in the gender component on knowledge of the territory and changes in the weather.
