Floristic inventary in Mayarí pinetums areas, affected by open sky excavation
Main Article Content
Abstract
The investigation was carried out in the period 2016-2017 in three locations of Pinares de Mayarí, Holguín, Cuba where open sky nickel had been mined. Areas were selected at 14; 18 and 20 years after have been planted with Casuarina equisetifolia L., in order to inventory the regenerating vegetation. Were listed 58 species present in the three selected parcels, belonging to 32 botanical families, of which stand out in number of species: Melastomataceae, Asteraceae, Poaceae, a Floristic enrichment it is noted correspondence with time, taking into account that at 20 years the deposition of small green branches that resemble acicular leaves is greater, which allow an increase in the species recruiting. In addition, there is a predominance of arboreal species, shrubs and climbing plant, as a signal of natural succession in the areas under the study.
