Prescribed burns effect over anion and cations concentration in superficial waters
Main Article Content
Abstract
Wildfires modify hydrological processes, to reduce infiltration and increase surface runoff promoting pollution of surface waters by particle entrainment. That is why the aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of prescribed burning on the concentration of anions and cations of surface water. Burnings were established in plots of 10,000 m2 and compared with a standard with similar characteristics. Given the established parameters of the prescription. Water samples were taken from streams before they reach the backwater (upstream of the weir), that is, next to the burned plots. So you get that implementing prescribed fires have minimal and temporary impact on the cations and anions of surface water, so much so that none of the evaluated parameters showed significant differences and all analyzes established water It has no restrictions for use.
