Determinate of the germinative capacity of the seeds of Cedrela odorata L. and their relationship with the morfometrical fruits caracteritics

Abstract
This paper presents a research developed in March, 2014, dedicated to evaluating the germinative capacity of the Cedrela odorata L. seeds, and its relationship with the metric morphology of the fruits that are obtained at the germ plasma bank located in El Congrí town, at the Agro forestry Research Station in the municipality of Guisa, Province of Granma. For the analysis, a seeds sample of 50 fruits was taken at random, considering the size categories (large, medium and small); the variables used in the study were weight, length, diameter and germinative capacity of the fruits. As results, it was found that the germinative capacity of the Cedrela odorata L. is related to the morphometric variables for the conditions of the germ plasma bank, where the fruits of larger dimensions had better germination, reaching a 88.50 %; the medium size fruits germination was of 71.50 % and the small fruits germination was 67.25 %.
