Methodological basis for the calculation of economic potential of comprehensive forest estate in saline soils
Main Article Content
Abstract
In the period 2008-2012, the Restoring Biodiversity and Community Development in the Eastern Province of Guantánamo was carried out with the participation of the Research Institute of Agro-Forestry at 14 Forest Farms area integrals Paraguay, belonging to the Forestry Business Unit Base of Guantánamo Forest Enterprise. The restoration of forest biodiversity in saline soils using techniques Analog Forestry was a challenge for the team of researchers and as a form of new forest management for the country represented a unique attempt to achieve the establishment of forest plantations, fruit and other crops in areas where there had been failed attempts. This paper presents the method used to calculate the productive potential in these areas in order to demonstrate to decision makers the feasibility of applying this technique.
