Carbon contain in some Cuban forest soils. Ferritics
Main Article Content
Abstract
Ferritic soil type is the oldest of Cuban territory, characterized by big profound, erosion process susceptibility without any protection so that reforest it may be one sure way to increase carbon storage. The total extension through Pinar del Río, Matanzas, Camagüey, Holguín y Guantánamo provinces is the 1 875,62 km2. Carbon contain was determines from organic matter (%) and apparent density of different soil profiles to 40 cm depth. One conclusion indicate that the major carbon storage take place when the soil is covered by pine plantation (mixed with coffee) of 7 and 19 years old. The objective of this paper is give to know carbon contain in Ferritic soil type.
