Abstract

This work was performed in native areas and plantations of Pinus caribaea Morelet in Alturas de Pizarras of Pinar del Río, Cuba. The study was aimed at the restoration of native plant diversity of this ecosystem. In the same satisfactory results such as: species: Andira inermes (Sw.), Guarea guidoni (L.), Didymopanax morototoni (Aubl.) Matayba apetala (Lam.), Clusia rosea (Aubl.), Xylopia aromatica (Lam.), Calophyllum pineterum (Bisse), Pithecellobium abovale (A. Rich.), who had been displaced to gallery forest degradation by soil and climate conditions, resulting from inadequate silvicultural management.
