Influence of the pre-germanitive treatments in seed the Psidium salutare (H.B.K.) berg in Viñales

Abstract
Psidium salutare (H.B.K.) Berg., commonly known in Cuba as guayabita del pinar belongs to Myrtaceae family. Its distribution is in the Caribbean and Central America. In Cuba only can be found in Pinar del Río province, and in Isla de la Juventud. It grows over Ferralitic Cuarcitic soils, lixiviated and with low nutrients availability. Species propagation has been affected because of low seed germination capacity (less than 10 %), that is why rejected in nurseries. Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests throw SPSS statistical package show the inefficiency of applied treatments. Curves by treatments, germinated seeds by treatments and germinated seeds per week are also shown.
