Carbon content in forest soils some Cuba. Fersiallitic ferromagnesial brownish red
Main Article Content
Abstract
The floor type Fersiallitic Ferromagnesial Brownish Red is distributed for the most part in the well-known regions as savannas serpentinic to all the long of the country with a surface estimated in near 100 000 there is. It has been very used in the reforestation programs in the last 50 years, given their limitations, fundamentally to be superficial and of low category agroproductivity; however in the preparation of the place using the subsoiling is possible to increase the forest cover index that which rebounds in a bigger storage of carbon in the floor. This article offers information on the content of carbon in this floor type, which was determined starting from the percent of organic matter and of the apparent density of the different floor profiles until the depth 20 cm. You concludes that this floor type can accumulate 84, 33 t/ha of carbon when Pinus caribaea Morelet var caribaea. Barret y Golfari is planted in floors With Superior Depth to 70 cm.
