Mathematical modelling of the mean diameter and mean height growing of Pinus caribaea Moreletvar. caribaea Barrett y Golfari in Forest Enterpris La Palma

Abstract
Mathematical modelling constitutes a very useful tool for the planning and administration of the forest ecosystems. With the objective of predicting the behavior of the mean diameter and the mean height in plantations of Pinus caribaea Morelet var. caribaea. Barrett y Golfari in Integral Forest Enterprise La Palma, seven models non-lineal regression were evaluated. The models of the best goodness of fit for the mean diameter were the of Hossfeld I and Hossfeld IV, with a coefficient of determination of 60,8% and two parameters of high significance (p < 0.001), and, for the mean height, the model of Hossfeld I and HossfeldIV with a coefficient of determination of 62,1% and two parameters of high significance (p < 0.001). The curves that describe the evolution in time of the annual mean increment (IMA), and the annual periodical increment (ICA) of this variable are provided.
