Impacto del material combustible en el comportamiento del fuego en plantaciones de Pinus caribaea Morelet var. caribaea en la zona de Cajálbana
Main Article Content
Abstract
Fuel material over pine lot soils highly increase fire risk. An alternative to diminish that risk is to reduce the quantity of fuel material periodically, having influence in forest fire evolution produced by conjunction of fuel material in the forest, metheorological conditions and the terrain topography. This work was developed in pine trees forest classified of 1 because of the degree of fire damage. The quantity of fuel material after silvicultural management was estimated. 1 m2 plot with a simple random sampling were stablished. The results show differences related to fuel material quantities in different study periods, where forest fire behaviour was more accentuated after 4 or 5 years after silvicultural management.
