Diagnostic of the floristic component with medicinal estates in the property «El Corojito»

Abstract

A diagnosis of the medicinal estates is shown that possess the species of the existent flora in the natural forest of the property «El Corojito», with the objective of propitiating the residents more information on the employment of the green medicine. As main results it was obtained that in the forest 78 species coexist, distributed in 71 gender and 39 botanical families, of which 62.8% presents a medicinal use at least, allowing in way general 150 therapeutic uses. Species of great importance assisting to the quality of their wood also charges a high significance assisting to their medicinal estates, among those that Cedrela odorata L. highlights to combat the dysentery, rheumatism, parasites, renal illnesses; Talipariti elatum (Sw.) Fryxell like to combat the asthma, flu and the low pressure, stimulant of the circulation and Swietenia mahagoni (L) Jacq. as emollient, woundwort, astringent, hemostatic, antiseptic and expectorant, what increases their demand on the part of the population.
