Empleo de aserraderos móviles en la economía forestal en Cuba

Abstract
In Cuba in the last years have been carried out investments in the purchase of mobile sawmills for a superior value to the 500 000 USD. It is in this study to determine the economic performance of the investments carried out in this field and of proposing some recommendations with the objective of tracing short term strategies. In the analysis of the potential and real yields of the manpower used in the most modern conventional fixed sawmills, the old ones and the laptops installed in the plant of Guane and Ciénaga de Zapata , it is appreciated that the yields are bigger in the fixed facilities, mainly those that were mounted in the last years. The portable sawmills have lightly superior yields to the old sawmills. An analysis of the total costs is included and of operations of the portable sawmills compared with the approved study of feasibility for the investment of the sawmill The Jagua. It is appreciated that the costs as much in total currency as in foreign currencies are very inferior in the Jagua; equally the internal rate of return (TIR) it is 5% superior in this sawmill, while the period of recovery of the investment is lightly higher due to the biggest costs in the equipment and facilities. According to the obtained results, the level of exploitation of these facilities is not uniform and in all the cases it is below its potential capacities, that which owes you, according to the elements obtained in the production and to the authors’ to that different models of several suppliers have been acquired approach, the intense exploitation to that you/they are subjected and to the lack of financial liquidity. Of all the above-mentioned it is recommended to carry out an evaluation of each one of the facilities in operation in order to improve their use in the locus in quo they are or to relocate them and to analyze the possibility to substitute in the current places or foreseen in the future the portable sawmills for facilities temporary manufacturing foreigner or national.
