Abstract
En esta ocasión nuestra revista quiere rendir un merecido homenaje al desaparecido profesor e ingeniero Alberto Ibáñez Drake, científico formador de varias generaciones de forestales cubanos, a quienes enseñó a amar los árboles, las maderas, la naturaleza. La enseñanza –decía Martí– es ante todo una obra de infinito amor.
A pesar de sus noventa y cuatro años, nunca abandonó su vida laboral; leía con avidez, aprendiendo cada día y desentrañando los secretos de las maderas.
Nuestro cariño, respeto y admiración, unido al recuerdo entrañable e imperecedero, al hombre que nunca abandonó su patria y fue ejemplo de consagración para todos. Siempre lo tendremos como nuestro maestro.
