Abstract
In Cuba, it is working and controlled some of the data related with the accidents and sicknesses that occure in forestry ingenering, from the point of view of protection and hygiene of the work, but not the ergonomic point of view.
The present investigation is the result of ergonomic studies for the activity of Wood Harvesting realised in the logging or harvesting enterprises: La Palma, Macurije and Minas de Matahambre in the Pinar del Río Province, with the objective of formulating a plan of measures which can cause the maximum reduction of illnesses and accidents that occure in wood harvesting operations. For this it was necessary to carry out a diagnosis of the professional and most frequent accidents and illnesses that occure in the falling, branch removal, area clearing and transportation; also to identify the parts of the body that are most affected by this operations.
