Potencialidades fibrosas de eucaliptos en Pinar del Río
Main Article Content
Abstract
The chemical composition and the morphological characteristic is studied from wood of E. saligna Smith, C. citriodora and E. pellita F. Muell. to three heights of the commercial bole in samples coming from the Integral Forest Companies (EFI) of Macurije and Guanahacabibes in Pinar del Río, Cuba. The samples obtained are used for the chemical analysis, and the morphological characteristic of the fibres, using the Norms Standard TAPPI. It is determined the chemical composition, length of the fibres, diameter of the lumen, thickener of the wall. The results suggest that the species of C. citriodora presents the biggest cellulose contents, smaller lignin contents and substances extractives, its fibres exhibit bigger length averages, with smaller values of lumen diameter, the bigger slenderness coefficients and smaller values of Runkel coefficient, presenting bigger fibrous potentialities.
