Determinación del sistema de raleos por índices de sitios para plantaciones de Eucalyptus sp. en Pinar del Río
Main Article Content
Abstract
Were measured 363 trees from different ages and site index localities by less sample plots method, in plantations of Eucalyptus saligna Sm and E pellita F. Muell settled in three forest enterprises: La Palma, Pinar del Rio and Macurijes. Crown average was used as indicator of measurable trees, as also stem form, health and vigor of trees. Rotational cycle of felling was fixed at age 15. For yield prediction the Schumacher’s formula was used (see Alder, 1980). The paper outcomes that index site 24 needs three thinnings, two thinnings are necessary for index site class 21 and 18, while site index 15 needs only a singular thinning. Yield tables were calculated for all site index class and assortments products of thinning tables are added. Silvicultural treatments were being effective if yield tables by site class obtained in this work are used.
