Influencia del espaciamiento en las propiedades físico-mecánicas de la madera de Pinus caribaea Morelet var. caribaea

Abstract
This paper has as objective to analyze the influence that has the plantation spacing in the physical and mechanical properties of the wood of the species Pinus cariabae Morelet ssp Morelet (Male Pine). samples coming from an experiment were obtained had mounted more than for 30 years in the Experimental Station of Viñales, where five different spacing settled down: 3x1, 3x1,5 3x2, 3x2,5 and 3x3, to which were practiced the corresponding test according to the existent Cuban and international norms. The physical studies demonstrated that the specific gravity of the wood and the shrinkage in volume behaved bigger in the spacing of 3x3; however the Relationship T/R was inferior in this last one showing a 1, 22% for 1,47% in the 3x1, that which defines the biggest difficulty that they should have the smallest spacing during the drying of the sawed wood. The results of this paper gave that the plantation spacing 3x3 are the one that better quality of the wood showed from the point of view of their properties physique mechanics, the low radial tangential relationship, the high specific gravity and high values of mechanical efforts make it stand out with regard to the other ones.
