Characterization of manglar ecosystem species in the preserved wood collection

Abstract
In the study, an examination of the samples of the mangrove ecosystem species, deposited in the Julián Acuña Galé Xiloteca, of the Institute of Agro-Forestry Research was carried out. The objective of the work was to describe the state of conservation in the preserved wooden collection. It was found that the four typical species are represented in the sample and Rhizophora mangle L., was the taxa with the largest number of inventoried individuals, with an abundance of 0.38%, while Laguncularia racemosa (L.) Gaertn.f. (0.13 %), Conocarpus erecta L. and Avicennia germinans (L.) L. (0.25 %), have depressed populations. It was determined that the average cross section of the specimens is the one with the highest incidence of affectations and, in general, the taxonomic group shows most of its elements in an acceptable state of conservation to be kept on display. The anatomical structure of each of the specimens facilitated the prediction of their possible uses.
