Caracterización de los extractos obtenidos a partir del follaje de Pinus caribaea Morelet var. Caribaea barret y golfari, y Pinus tropicalis Morelet
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work shows the results of the chemical composition study of Pinus caribaea Morelet var. caribaea Barret y Golfari and Pinus tropicalis Morelet foliage from Pinar del Río province, Cuba, through the natural alcoholics extracts obtainment with the purpose of the know the possibilities to use these in medicine, production and obtaining of new no wood forests products and also in animal food.
Important secondary metabolites were determined by phytochemical screening in different months of one year, since July 1998 to June 1999. The contents of cellulose, lignin and hot water extractives were quantified in the foliage of both species. The best values were to Pinus tropicalis Morelet.
Carotenes and chlorophyll a & b were quantified by UV spectroscopic to both species, C and E vitamins were determined. D vitamin was qualified by thin layer chromatography.
